A Message to the Penn Community About the COVID Positivity Rates
February 16, 2021
This week, the University remains at Campus Alert 2. The worrisome trends we observed in our undergraduate student population two weeks ago fortunately did not persist. This allows us to avoid moving to a more restrictive campus environment. While this is reassuring, we must not let our guard down and must continue to practice the utmost vigilance in all of our interpersonal interactions. This is especially important in light of the emergence of highly transmissible variants at Penn and in nearby communities. While most students navigate COVID-19 relatively unscathed, last week we saw our first hospitalizations of students because of COVID-19. Wash your hands, watch your distance and wear a mask. Socialize outside. Don’t be the weakest link.
