Important Message to Students
March 14, 2020 - The University has made several difficult decisions in the past week in the interest of our community’s health and well-being. Included in these decisions was a notice to all students to immediately practice low-density medical standard social distancing. This included a clear mandate to cease all student group activities, on or off campus. No parties. No events.

March 14, 2020 - We instructed all residents of University housing to leave by Tuesday March 17 and expect off-campus students to vacate their residences by the same time. We have communicated Penn’s position to local landlords and asked them to work with their tenants to support this public health necessity.

March 13, 2020 - Public health experts advise social distancing for containing the spread of this virus. As a result, we are depopulating the campus for the remainder of the semester by transitioning to virtual teaching and dramatically reducing the number of students residing in the College Houses.

March 3, 2020 - Spring Break is imminent, and I know many families are debating students’ travel plans in light of the fast-evolving global coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Yesterday, Penn advised all community members against travel to China, Italy, Iran, and South Korea. Any student visiting these countries must self-isolate for two weeks upon return, missing class and assignments.
